C5 works!
In the seven years since the original Foundation was created, we have taken the program from an untested model to one that is widely recognized throughout the youth development community.
Preparing students for college and helping them overcome any obstacles along the way is a major aspect of C5's core work, and our students' college admission and retention rates are the defining measurement of the overall success of our youth development and mentorship programs.
-
90% year over year retention rate
-
Virtually 100% of youth who completed the C5 program receive their high school diplomas
-
Over 95% of C5LA youth matriculate to college.
Over the years, we have received much praise from our peers, perhaps none more complimentary than those from the Los Angeles Unified School District and the American Camp Association, (ACA). In 2007, the ACA awarded the C5YF of Southern California the Eleanor Eells Award for Program Excellence, recognizing successful outcomes and our creative response to the needs of at-risk youth.
