CAPS Program Director
Albany Vega joined C5LA in 2018 College Access Persistence & Success (CAPS) Program Director. Albany will be leading college exposure and readiness programs such as Road to College, ACTNow Summit, College Boot Camp and will be launching C5’s newest initiative, C5 Crews, to support C5 alum on college campuses. Albany is very passionate about supporting students to and through the rigorous college-application cycle and bridging the opportunity gap by maximizing students’ social capital.
Her prior experience surrounds college access and youth development having worked with i.am College Track Boyle Heights and Step Up Los Angeles. Albany graduated from UCLA (Go Bruins!) in 2016 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature and minors in Education Studies and Chicanx Studies. She then went on to receive her Masters in Education degree at the University of Pennsylvania after moving cross-country to Philadelphia.
