Ever since C5 began graduating youth from our program, over 95% of C5 graduates have gone on to pursue a college education! This success has been achieved through our focus on preparing youth for higher education. Throughout their experience with C5, our youth explore a variety of career options, are taught the navigation skills necessary for college accessibility, receive assistance with college and scholarship applications, and attend college prep workshops and college fairs.
Prior to their junior year in high school, these young adults move away from the outdoor adventure experience and explore choices for post-secondary education and career opportunities. Continuing with the leadership development focus, C5 youth research, design and develop their own college tour, the C5 “Road to College.” The “Road to College” summer tour is a 7-10 day college campus exploration that takes C5 youth to regional schools and allows them to get a taste of what college life will be like. We help our youth take a holistic view of the college experience, helping them understand all of the dynamics that make for a perfect match as they begin to make their decisions for their future.
Along the way, they learn about the communities surrounding the schools. As such, the youth will have an opportunity to engage in a volunteer service project in one of the communities they visit.
