Dr. Tim Gramling has nearly 30 years of experience across a number of industries. One of his first roles was on the programming team for an early ISDN switch call processor at Bell Communications Research in 1988. After completing his undergraduate degree at Harvard, he joined Seer Technologies. Seer was a software startup funded by IBM and staffed by programmers from the investment bank First Boston Corporation. Consulting with clients across the US and Europe, he helped the company generate $100 million in revenue and go public within its first five years.
Tim balanced work at Seer with graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After completing the Master of Science degree in 1995, he relocated to Kansas City to join an executive development program at Sprint. This program allowed him to rotate through several assignments at headquarters along with call center operations in Denver.
After completing Sprint's program in 1998, Tim relocated to South Florida and a leadership role with American Express. After becoming one of the company's youngest directors, he led several business process reengineering projects and traveled to India and the Philippines. While at American Express, he served on a number of non-ˇprofit boards and also worked as an Adjunct Instructor for a large community college. It was this experience that led him into higher education.
Tim's first full-ˇtime university role was as an Academic Dean at DeVry University South Florida. He played a number of roles at DeVry, including Registrar, Acting Dean of Academic Affairs, Center Dean, Senior Center Dean with multiple centers, Director of Finance for a single campus, and Senior Director of Finance for a region of campuses that generated over $350 million in annual revenue.
Tim left DeVry in 2009 to become the youngest campus president in the history of Colorado Technical University (CTU). During his time at CTU, he completed the Law and Policy Doctorate Degree at Northeastern University. Since then, he has taken on increasing levels of responsibility across multiple campuses and states. This included a stint as president of the Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura, CA. Today, he is the Executive Director at the North Hollywood campus of West Coast University. In this role, he leads a team of faculty and staff in support of over 1000 students seeking the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and the Registered Nurse credential.
Tim is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and its Southern California chapter. He enjoys riding his Can-ˇAm Spyder and flying helicopters. He often joins his wife Charlene on Skype or Glyde with their son, daughter-ˇin-ˇlaw, and two grandsons.
