CAPS College Counselor

Cesar I. Ortega Perez is a college counselor in the CAPS program. He joined C5LA in 2012 as a mentor and has continued to work with the organization until he joined full time in 2018.

His prior work experience is in the arts and the education space working primarily with community based theater organizations such as Cornerstone Theater Company and Teatro Jornalero Sin Fronteras telling stories and creating performances for and about communities in California. Cesar has most recently worked as an intervention specialist in middle schools to strengthen and empower the special educational program.
